we decided that we won’t be travelling to switzerland this week. we would have visited our friends’ Kush K’s record release party at Helsinki Club Zürich and DJ’d there and we would have played Bad Bonn Düdingen as 13Year Cicada for the very first time. knowing the club and its stellar booking and atmosphere, the prospect of doing this was something that made us feel honored and excited. and the prospect of hanging with the berna family, well, too much for words.
it would have been safe to play Bad Bonn, but all the circumstances surrounding the concert seemed too uncertain. a really hard decision: we want to take the risk of infections seriously, but at the same time are part of a concert scene, people we love, with so many livelihoods at stake at the moment, that we want to be in solidarity with. still we decided to listen to our tummies and not to go.
we want to thank everyone trying to make it possible immensely. but we hope you understand and we will be back as soon as opportunities will come. until then, we will try to find solace in the studio. lots of love <3 13YC aka philip, hotti and zooey

Was für Montreux «Smoke on the Water» war, wird für Fribourg schon bald die Ode «Motta» des Wiener Kraut-Glam-Noise-Rock-Trios an die gleichnamige Mutter aller Swimmingpools sein. Die Abräumer der Kilbi 2008 kommen wieder und erweisen, ob sie wollen oder nicht, unserer Stadt die unverdiente Ehre mit ihrem neuen Album «Kodak Dream»: Elektrisierende, wuchtige, stets mutierende Sound-Kombinationen, deren kleinster gemeinsamer Nenner das energische Tempo sein könnte. Berlin gibt Wien diesen Takt schon vor, mit 13 Year Cicada, die ihrerseits den Ruf geniessen, nicht minder rohe und vibrierende Live-Perlen vor ihre halb verhungerten Rampensäue zu werfen.

Ce que «Smoke on the Water» est pour Montreux, «Motta» le sera bientôt pour Fribourg - un ode du trio kraut-glam-noise-rock viennois à la mère de toutes les piscines. Les rases-mottes de la Kilbi 2008 sont de retour et, qu’on le veuille ou non, encensent notre ville d’hommages démesurés dans leur nouvel album «Kodak Dream»: un ensemble de combinaisons sonores électrisantes et massives dont le plus petit dénominateur commun réside dans la rythmique énergique. Berlin dicte le tempo à Vienne avec 13 Year Cicada tandis qu’elle se délecte de sa réputation de ne servir que des perles de concerts, crus et vibrants pour le public affamé.
